The brute paused, a stillness setting as he did so. Not a sound struck the area for a moment, for it held itself with such care in the presence of such a beast. Not that Cuvitz was a beast. ----- Though shorter than the average male wolf, Cuvitz was barrel chested with amazing strength in his torso. He also had a deadly maw, shaped for killing. And yet he didn't kill, it wasn't in his nature... not as it was in the nature of his half-demon sister Marrow. ----- Finally he took a breath, and the sounds rushed to his auds. The gentle whisper of grass shuffling in the breeze, the clapping of delicate wildflowers beholding a figure larger than themselves. It was a stunning sight for them, though the brute passed it by without thought. ----- You see, he was here on a mission of sorts. To find his place in wolves society, to even find another wolven actually. For too long had he dragged about. It was time to shapen up and become what he was. This time Marrow was far in the distance, and his only worry a brother who was too skittish to bother him. ----- Making a graceful walk toward one of the few trees in the area, Cuvitz scanned and listened for life in any kind. He could only really count the tree and few insects right now, but he'd rather not be killed on the spot by some too-proud whelp with a mind only on power. ----- He paused when in the full glory of the poplar, then he turned on his heels and lowered his haunches. Planted, he could then rest, aware of these new surrounding. And so it was now and here, that he waited.

./{The Huntress
Artemis, who had made her way to visiting the lands of the neutrals, hoping to find a pack that would suit one as herself, caught the scent of the brute as he'd first paused. She watched him with curious jade green eyes as he moved with such integrity and grace, that she'd learned as she grew.
The huntress carefully followed him as he walked on, but still a good distance away so that she seemed out of sight, gazing at the magnificence of the poplar. Perhaps, this brute had already sensed her... why was he waiting? She wished that she had asked for the power of the mind instead of the winds. Nevertheless she was proud of her gift and she altered the path of a blowing wind so that it was hit the male's pelt, unaware of how he'd react to such childish antics.
As soon as she had begun, she hid behind the bushes, her eyes twinkling in delight for it had been years since she joked around like this. It wasn't like her to be so reckless, yet she felt so free and she relished the feeling while it lasted.

Unaware of the fae's kiddish games, he scented the wind as it stoaked his pelt. It was gentle, almost wolflike. He thought nothing of it, as he didn't know of these powers at this time. However, his auds pricked as a ripple of something ran down his spine and hackles. His golden pools searched, yet he saw nothing. ----- Rather offset by this strange feeling, he couldn't help but turn to the wind once more. Scenting, he didn't catch any sign of his siblings. And so he shivered, shook his crown, and muttered something under his breath before scanning the place skillfully. It would be to no avail though, this creature was hidden to him.

Artemis watched as the brute seemed puzzled by what had happened and she couldn't help but chuckle lightly. Should she let him off the hook, or had he already sensed her presence after she couldn't contain her laughter? Caring not of it she bounded around the bushes, opposite of where he was looking and altered the path of another blowing wind, this time her scent was carried on the breeze. With this she pranced towards him but paused when she came about 5 feet from him.

He knew instantly when the wind changed that he wasn't alone. He partially froze, though his crown snapped to the right. It was only then that he flashed his fangs lightly before realizing what he was doing, and cooled to watched her. ----- When she paused, the eyed her cautiously before deciding to speak. Even then, it took him awhile before actually following through with his plan. "Who would you be?" he asked in question, aware he sounded a little ticked off. However, to add measure, he rose his back end from the ground and stood ready. Like before, he'd rather be prepared than wounded. ----- Taken by surprise, he had instantly eyed her strange colouring. Jade eyes that reminded him so of Arloose, though his brothers where more-so teal in small areas. Her maw bowed a tan colour, which wasn't related to any siblings he knew of. Her white pelt shocked him most, as it related Marrow in such a frightful way. He didn't show this though, and simply continued his watch. She had unique markings, and he couldn't help but rest his golden pools on the vine-like trait that snaked her brush. Once done there, he moved to her golden crown-mark. ----- Suddenly shaken, he regained his composure. He had been staring, and knew it well. Odd though, he couldn't help but glance once more at the crown mark before falling still to await her reply.

She could feel his stares scanning her body, she did indeed have strange markings and she knew it well. She was amused by his initial reaction and felt rather exposed by the wanderings of his eyes. She couldn't help but show her irritation to the matter. She didn't realize that this brute would be just so inquisitive of her appearance. Nevertheless she answered his question.
"The name's Artemis, and you are?"
'A weird male who has been eyeing my features...' she thought to herself. She flicked an ear and moved one pace towards him, taking notice that he was quite wary of her movements. She gazed at the other's amber eyes, they seemed to glow like her's except with the hues of the sun, and his pelt had strange mixtures of fur colors, although she knew that most wolves had such coloring but from her stand point it was rather odd. Realizing that she herself had been staring at the male's appearance, took in a breath and raised her maw so that she stared into his pools evenly, anticipating his response.

He knew full well of her annoyance, and took it into note. They were indeed unique, more-so than most wolves, but he entire family had been so in it's way. It wasn't mostly the markings, but their colour in a way. He was quite keen to the tan colour, as the particular shade wasn't often seen mixed in black outer fur. ----- He didn't stir as she paced closer, though could tell she was also eying him. However, as a brute sized buy many, he was accustomed of it and a glitter of selfish pride hinted in his pools. For shorter than most, he has the size of power. Round chest, elegant muzzle... ----- It was when she studied his pools, that he was able to glimpse her own once more. They seemed to sparkle, though most did. However, there was something different in them, something foreign he hadn't seen before... ----- He couldn't help but catch what may have been an undertone in her voice, but he did nothing of it. It had been rude to stare, and he couldn't help but agree in his own way. "Cuvitz." He said only that, in his as-a-matter-of-fact tone that often received angry glares.

She stepped back slightly when his gaze caught hers and blinked repeatedly as if she tried to make sure she wasn't seeing things. She realized the familiarity in his eyes and tried not to show how flustered she felt inside by continuing to look at the whirling pools of gold. Why couldn't she have just crept on to the other lands? Did she still have the chance to avoid facing him? Of course not, it had diminished the moment she'd made her appearance. As she realized her options she decided not to take note of the coincidence.
"Cuvitz, is it?" She said as if to taste his name on her tongue, at the same time taking a few steps towards him a smile gracing her lips."It's an unusual name, where'd you get it?" She hoped that her prying wouldn't recieve such a reaction that would make it awkward for them both, yet part of her hoped for it.

He pricked his auds, quite taken with her actions. Though this all seemed a little odd, he simply decided to go with it. "I was named after my fathers brother, Cuv." he smiled back, "Itz was added since is was my mothers sisters name." ----- His pools chilled as he remembered his family's slaughter. Marrow, or course, had done it as a result of her ruthless and bizare nature. He didn't know why she was so vile, nor had anyone really. However, she had done this none-the-less. ----- "Thay are dead now," he said, his smile fading lightly before he shook it off. He wasn't too down when saying this, as he was never close to them. As a result, he smiled lightly, then allowed her to talk.

Oddly enough she was intrigued by how his name came to be. Her smile faded as his did when he mentioned the death of his family and she was surprised to see him smiling again.
"How awful it must have been for you." She said, her voice filled with true sympathy. She wasn't sure whether or not to prod on this subject and if it would beray the conversation. She decided to try to persuade him into telling her by telling him of her own tragedy.
"My parents are have passed on as well," She said aloud, her eyes seeming to stray from his as she recalled the moments of which she had adamantly plotted against them, which in the end brought their demise.
"Died from a deer rampage and fell off a cliff."She clenched her jaws, and her bod shook slightly at the memory, slightly regretting her actions, and yet she felt proud at her accomplishment. She placed her gaze to Cuvitz eyes once again, hoping that he wouldn't see through her act.

As she looked into his pools, he saw something familiar. Something he'd seen in the orbs of many wolves like Marrow. However, he didn't react. All he had where his siblings, and even he didn't consider them that. Blood ties was one thing, but acting was quite another. ----- "Stampedes are dangerous, I'm sure there was little else that could be done," his smile faded lightly, his facial look concerning and caring. His gold pools sparked with recognition as he spoke this, as he couldn't aid his parents. She was too ruthless to stop and there was little he could do in a wounded state. ----- Shifting subjects, Cuvitz lowered his rump to keep himself comfortable. "I came from far to the east, trailed by my siblings," he sighed, "one of them murdered the family, and the other is a runaway." He made no mention of Rache, as he had no idea about her. For all he knew, she was dead and had been for some time. There would really be no point in mentioning her.

Artemis softened her gaze, there was something about Cuvitz that she just couldn't place a paw on. Regardless of the unshakable feeling, she followed his suit and sat on her haunches, her ears listening attentively.
"Far east eh? I came from the opposite direction, alone of course." She emitted an audible sigh, despite welcoming the lonesomeness she always felt like she needed company. "I was never close to my siblings, I was the oldest of them all and spent many days in the forest training with..." She trailed off, should she mention him? She didn't feel like she had the courage to nor did she feel that she could trust this male.
"Uh, nevermind. I'm accustomed to being a loner, although I was destined as the heiress." She was quite young when she became the Alphess, and not so wise as to keep her position. Suddenly her nose caught the scent of the pine, she hadn't seemed to notice it before, it brought great memories.

He raised a brow as she skipped her comment about training. he couldn't help it either, Artemis was unique and interesting in her way. It was strange that she say such a thing, then skip it, but he let it pass. "I was the second oldest, though my older sister is only half related to me. Different mother you see," he explained, "I also have a younger half sister and full brother." This time he couldn't help but smile. "My father had two mates, and lead two different packs with one in the dark about it." His hues sparkled with something, his memory of his father panicking when the two strayed close. Pack battles between two enemy packs that where led by one wolf out be strange, awkward really. Ribor was only thankful that Cuvitz mother would take the two extra pups. ----- "So there really was a weird existence, with Marrow and I heirs to two different packs." he nodded, then winced lightly. He had to add the last bit to explain his presence here, "Then Marrow killed everyone and I fled here."

She couldn't help but chuckle at hearing that his father kept two mates. Her laughter rung like a bell, soft and clear, even for the few moments that it occured. Her attitude seemed to change however, whenever he mentioned this Marrow, who apparently was his sister. She couldn't help but react, her doing seemed so similar to her's yet what Artemis did wasn't purely of cold blood. Everytime she comes close to shaking off the memory of her causing the death of her parents, he somehow makes it float into her thoughts again.
"It must have been. So you and her weren't exactly the best of friends, I assume." She kept her tone light and merry, hoping to mask her inner turmoil. Her maw graced with a soft smile and she began to explain her reason to coming here.
"I guess you and I have something in common," She reconciled and paused remembering the day she left the pack. "I was exiled from my pack, by my own mate.. or I should say ex-mate. Never much liked him..." Artemis trailed off again lost in her own thought.

He nodded as she spoke of her ex-mate. He had actually had one himself, Arloose as well... though both didn't know. Marrow had seen to that, as usual. It was odd how it worked like so. ----- "Best friends, the very opposite." he could nearly taste the bitter hatred of Marrow on his tongue, and malice reflected in his eyes. She had destroyed his life, his siblings as well. He had no reason to even think of her, and simply let her live as a death wish of his own father. Other than that, he would have torn at her life reign... yes, he hated her purely, though he wouldn't admit it if she ever caught wind of it. ----- "Exiled." He watched her fade into thought, and silently turned his attention to a stray strand of foxtail. It grew near some fallen leaves that had survived being decomposed... He glanced back, not knowing where this conversation would lead. Part of him wished to move on, there was more to everything than the past after all.
