A beautiful dark brown and cherry red fae stood still and watched the land before her. It was a glorious island in the middle of a lake. Only a small land bridge connected it with the main land. In the middle of the island there was a small forest and around it were plains. This place was perfect. Food and water were right here and so was shelter. Cherry howled toward the skies, telling everybody that this place was now hers.

A neutral brute quietly, purpously walked into Cherry's view. He knew that this was her pack; he had traced the howl back to her. Duke wished to join Cloud Island. He didn't want to sneak up on her, so he had walked in front of her. His tail tip brushed up against the ground in respect. "Hello. I wish to join your pack. I am Duke," he said quietly, watching her with soft eyes.

Cherry looked at the brute curiously. "That went fast." hopped through her mind. She coughed to make her voice more suitable for an alphess. "Greetings Duke, I am Cherry. I will gladly accept you into my pack. Do you have any qualities?" Yes, a new member would give her pack a nice kick-start.

Duke smiled, happy that he had been accepted. "Hm...I am known to hunt and come back with food almost every time," he answered her question. His tail wagged slowly as the brute waited for his new alphess to respond.

"That's magnificent!" she said in awe. Cherry wasn't a very good hunter herself, she was more of a strategist than a fighter and hunter. But a wolf like Duke would be very useful for the pack, once it gets bigger. Perhaps other wolves could even learn from him. She wagged her dark brown tail happily. Things were going great.

Duke smiled slightly, happy that she was glad at his hunting skills. His head tilted to the side as a howl reached his ears. He blinked. "Is that for you?" he inquired, knowing the howl came from the boarders.

Cherry blinked in suprise. She hadn't heard anything. Her dark red ears moved in all directions, looking for any voices. But she heard nothing. Confused, she turned to Duke "Are you sure you heard anything? I hear nothing." She thought that the wind might have played tricks on them, but she still asked "Could you please direct me to the source of the howl?"
